29th February:

Benbecula: 1st w Glaucous Gull and 1st w Iceland Gull at Gramsdale. Male Lesser Scaup and male Scaup Coot Loch.

South Uist: 4 Glaucous Gulls (1 adult and 3 x 1st yrs) Eochar machiar; also a single 1st yr Iceland Gull and a Lesser Black-backed Gull on the pools. 1st yr Glaucous Gull Bornish machair.

28th February:

Benbecula: male Lesser Scaup and 2 male Scaup Coot Loch. 11 White-fronted Geese Loch Mor. 2 x 1st w Iceland Gulls Gramsdale.

South Uist: 3 x 1st w and an adult Glaucous Gull Eochar machair; also 1st w Iceland Gull and 7 Pink-footed Geese.

27th February:

Lewis: White-billed Diver Port of Ness.

North Uist: Great Skua seen heading north off Baleshare.

Benbecula: 2 x 1st w Iceland Gulls at Gramsdale; also 1st w American Herring Gull reported from here this afternoon.

South Uist: 1st w Glaucous Gull along the coast at Drimsdale and 1st w Iceland Gull Stilligarry. 2 x 1st w Iceland Gulls just south of Ardivachar. 1st w, 2nd w and adult Glaucous Gull North Bay. 1st w Glaucous Gull Balgarva.

Lewis: Iceland Gull in Stornoway harbour.

South Uist: 1st w and near-adult Iceland Gull Lochboisdale.

24th February:

South Uist: Adult Glaucous Gull on Loch a' Chnoic Bhuidhe at Tobha Beag. 204 Purple Sandpipers at Ardvule.

South Uist: 3 x 1st w and 1 adult Glaucous Gulls in Ardivachar / North Bay area.

21st February:

Benbecula: 2 x 1st w Iceland Gulls in Stinky Bay area and 2 1st w at Gramsdale. Male Lesser Scaup and male Scaup on Coot Loch. 2 Pink-footed Geese with Greylags at Torlum.

South Uist: 3 x 1st w Glaucous Gulls and a 1st w Iceland Gull Eochar machair / Ardivachar.

20th February:

North Uist: Jack Snipe near Scolpaig.

Benbecula: 2 x 1st w Iceland Gulls at Gramsdale. 2 Pink-footed Geese with Greylags at Torlum.

19th February:

Benbecula: male Lesser Scaup and male Scaup on Coot Loch.

South Uist: 1st w Iceland Gull, plus 1st w and adult Glaucous Gull on Eochar machair. Adult Iceland Gull Howmore. Goldcrest at Drimsdale.

18th February:

North Uist: 113 Great Northern Divers, 1 Black-throated Diver, 8 Red-throated Divers, 17 Slavonian Grebes and 12 Common Scoters around the coast of Berneray. Also on the island: 2nd w L.B.B.Gull and 16 Snow Buntings amongst 300+ Twite.

South Uist: 30 White-fronted Geese and a 1st w Glaucous Gull at Kilpheder.

At least 3 Porpoise between Rubha Bhoisnis, Berneray and Boreray.

17th February:

North Uist: 210+ Snow Buntings Clachan Farm; 70 Snow Buntings Sollas machair, 10 Snow Buntings Borve machair, Benreray.

Benbecula: 1st w Iceland Gull Gramsdale. 1st w Glaucous Gull Stinky Bay.

South Uist: adult Iceland Gull Drimsdale.

16th February:

Lewis: 3 adult and 1st w Iceland Gull around Goat Island Stornoway. 121 Purple Sandpipers at Arnol, plus 24 White-fronted Geese feeding on moor edge near wind mast.

Benbecula: male Lesser Scaup plus male and female Scaup on Coot Loch.

South Uist: adult Iceland Gull Drimsdale.

15th February:

Lewis: 9 Iceland Gulls (8 1st w and 1 adult) Loch Roag. 8 Slavonian Grebes Reef and 10 Slavonian Grebes off Linshader with a male Hen Harrier close by.

Harris: 3 Surf Scoters in the Sound of Taransay.

                                                                                                                           Golden Eagle getting a hard time in Balallan (Steve Duffield); female Siskin (Frank Stark).

14th February:

Lewis: 361 Great Northern Divers, 15 Slavonian Grebes and 71 Common Scoter in Broad Bay. 20 Snow Buntings flew east over the Braigh. 6 Scaup (3 male and 3 female) 101 Tufted Duck, 9 Goldeneye and 2 Pink-footed Geese Loch Tiumpan. 2 White-billed Divers reported off Skigersta in the afternoon.

Harris: 3 Surf Scoters in the Sound of Taransay.

Berneray: Canada Goose seen with Barnacle Geese on the machair before flying south.

13th February:

Lewis: 25 Siskin in the Castle Grounds and 2 x 1st w Iceland Gulls in Stornoway harbour.

Harris: 3 Surf Scoters (2 male and a female), 22 Slavonian Grebe and 104 Great Northern Divers in the Sound of Taransay.

South Uist: 5 Glacuous Gulls (1 adult) and a 1st w Iceland Gull on pools just south-east of Ardivachar Point. Male American Wigeon Loch Bee (south-west corner).

Cetaceans: 6 Bottle-nosed Dolphins off Ardvule, South Uist and a Porpoise in the Sound of Taransay.

12th February:

Lewis: Glaucous Gull Stornoway harbour.

Benbecula: male Lesser Scaup and male Scaup still on Coot Loch.

South Uist: 7 Glaucous Gulls (5 x 1st w, 2nd w and adult) feeding on remains of whale in North Bay. 1st w Iceland Gull Ardivachar.

11th February:

Lewis: Male Hen Harrier hunting at Garynahine.

North Uist: 6 Gadwall Loch Mor / Loch na Paisg and 5 Snow Buntings amongst 100 Twite on Baleshare.

Benbecula: Male Lesser Scaup and male Scaup Coot Loch.

South Uist: 1st w, 2nd w and adult Glaucous Gull Ardivachar.

Sowerby's-beaked whale washed up at Borve / Liniclate, Benbecula (just to south-west of Linilcate School).

10th February:

Lewis: 3 Grey Wagtails at Cuddy Point and 9 Siskin in Castle Grounds, Stornoway. 4 Scaup on Loch Tiumpan.

North Uist: Green-winged Teal Loch Mor.

Barra: 53 Brent Geese at Eoligarry including 1 dark-bellied bird. 2 Common Scoter Sound of Barra. Female Velvet Scoter Cornaig Bay, Vatersay. 2 male Scaup and a Coot Loch Tangusdale.

Dark-bellied Brent Goose (with pale-bellied bird in first shot).

9th February:

Lewis: 3 adult and 3 x 1st w Iceland Gulls on Goat Island, Stornoway. 2 x 1st w Iceland Gulls Stornoway harbour. 2 x 1st w Glaucous Gulls and 2 x 1st w Iceland Gulls Siadar. Water Rail Steinish.

South Uist: 1 adult and 3 x 1st w Glaucous Gulls on the remains of the whale at North Bay. 1st w and an adult Glaucous Gull at Ardivachar, plus 1st w Iceland Gull there. 1st w Iceland Gull at Loch Boisdale.

8th February:

South Uist: 4 Glaucous Gull (an adult and 3 x 1st w) and 1st w Iceland Gull Ardivachar. 8 Glaucous Gulls (2 adults, 1 x 2nd w, 5 x 1st w) in nearby North Bay feeding on badly decomposed whale carcass.

7th February:

South Uist: 5 Glaucous Gulls (adult and 4 x 1st w) and a 1st w Iceland Gull on flooded machair just south of Ardivachar. 6 Slavonian Grebes off Balgarva.

Lewis: 13 Snow Buntings Siadar moor.

3rd February:

Lewis: 1st w Kumlien's Gull and 1st w Iceland Gull cruising the coastline between Barvas and Brue. 1st w Glaucous Gull Loch Barvas, 1st w Glaucous Gull and 1st w Iceland Gull Siadar.

South Uist: Great White Egret Loch Druidibeg on the roadside at Stilligarry.
